I ordered my Zonbu a while ago.
A few days ago I received a notice saying it would be shipping shortly. So I waited. I can pretend to be patient.
Strangely, I haven’t seen any sign of a tracking number which is really e-commerce 101.
Ah, they just sent me an e-mail saying that the units are expected to ship later in the week? Hmm, so they started their PR campaign and either weren’t ready to ship (pessimistic me) or have completely sold out their stock already and are waiting for more (optimistic me)?
Either way, a bit of a snafu in this age of immediate gratification.
Back to waiting…
-Mr. Zonbu
i have ordered one last week and i am quite dissapointed that it is taking so long. I had hoped to get my zonbu in this week because it’s my last week of vacation before i go to work again , poor me 😦
on the bright side: they don’t charge any money before they ship it.
I did some research after reading your blog. I think the Zonbu is just a rebranded fit-pc
Check out this link: http://www.fit-pc.com/specifications.htm
The fit-pc sells for $285 USD
You can also get a micro ITX setup from this site:

Here is a page with pictures that look very similar to the zonbu

BTW DSL has come a long way as an OS.
The reason whay I think it is rebranded is because the Fit-pc comes with Gentoo installed. That is what caught my attention since both the Zonbu and the fit-pc use Gentoo as an OS.
IMO Gentoo is not a very good choice for an OS because the Gentoo development team is “errantic” and distro production is complicated by developer politics.
I think the basic hardware can be found here.

well, my zonbu has finally shipped, i hope to get it sometime next week
