With a draw of only 15W, the Zonbu is not only green when using traditional energy sources, but its energy needs are so modest it may be well suited to being powered by alternate sources like solar.
I’m no expert in this space, but News.com is running an interesting story on concentrated solar power that I think may be of interest to you as a reader.
We will be exploring this topic in more detail over the coming weeks, but I wanted to toss the idea out to the growing readership for discussion and comment.
Are you using any alternate energy at home now? Would you consider alternate sources to power your Zonbu?

Could I set-up a turbine to collect the heat coming from my new HDTV to power my new Zonbu.:) π π
I ordered a Kill A Watt meter to measure the real world power use my new Zonbu.

I’ll post the numbers after I get it.
Has anyone already done some power measurements on theirs?
Woohoo! The doorbell just rang and my Zonbu is here. I ordered it on 7/30. Three days for delivery is pretty damn speedy. The thing is even prettier and smaller than I thought.
Congrats!
I’m tracking mine as we speak, it had to be re-shipped to me from one of our other offices. FedEx willing I’ll have mine before the weekend.
Gregg, if you want to guest author a column on your initial impressions, you’re welcome to.

Thanks for the offer Mr. Zonbu. I might just take you up on it. But I won’t have time to do anything with my new toy for a little while. Hopefully soon though.
