Rhapsody bug work-around; get Rhapsody.com on FF 2.0.0.6

August 11, 2007

Rhapsody.com LogoI discovered when I upgraded to Firefox 2.0.0.6 that I couldn’t get the player to install properly from Rhapsody.com.

I’m certain the problem is on the Rhapsody.com end, and I’m alarmed they haven’t fixed it yet.

In the mean time, I’ve found a direct URL that you can use (at your own risk) to install the player extension in Firefox.

I used it and it worked fine for me.

You can download the Rhapsody Player Plugin here.

That’s fine, that’s why you should buy a Zonbu in the first place! Even so, stay with me. I’m downloading the Gutsy ISO so I can install that and hopefully get the correct video driver working, and then report back.

Still don’t know what I’m on about? Ignore this post and enjoy the rest of the blog. It is almost all non-technical.

So far, things seem to be going ok. In fact, I’m writing this from the Zonbu box, via Firefox 2.0.0.6 under Ubuntu.

I installed the Ubuntu Feisty 7.04 Desktop, did the recommended package updates via their tool, and then followed these docs on the Zonbu forums to get the audio working
